Maintenance Facilities

C-130 Work Stands

HHI designed, fabricated, manufactured, and installed two C·130 Maintenance Stands for Hill AFB building 680 (Docks E2 and E3).

Aircraft Maintenance Project

This multi-phased project included the construction of a new 2-story 38,000 square foot Aircraft Maintenance Facility, construction of a new 5,000 square foot office building, remodel of 2 Aircraft Hangars, major remodel of existing Maintenance Building, and the demolition of 6 existing buildings. Work included all divisions and was phased to allow the Owner to move and relocate personnel at various times throughout the project.

Armament Overhaul/Test Facility

This project was for the design-build of a shop facility used to overhaul aircraft weapons systems with an attached firing range for test firing 20 mm and 30 mm guns. The shop portion is approx. 13,000 SF, single story, with administrative areas, offices, restrooms, and shop area with both open and enclosed spaces. It is a steel frame structure with masonry wainscot and standing seam metal roof. The shop provides electrical power and compressed air for a number of specialized pieces of have shop equipment. The 7000 SF gun range is a concrete structure with heavy blast doors and a large bullet trap area for receiving spent rounds. The gun range has an installed hydraulic power unit, computer control unit for firing the guns and recording technical gun information, an overhead air operated bridge crane, and ventilation system. Design requirements included the disciplines of electrical, civil, mechanical, structural, landscape, LEED, fire protection, fire alarm, cathodic protection security, hydraulic and gun control systems, and equipment installation design.. The project was designed for AO/TF requirements and achieved points equal to LEED Silver. Energy usage design exceeded ASHRAE 90.1 by more than 30%. The project also included site development, project fencing on-site parking lot, extensions of electrical, water, and gas lines, and the demolition of an existing firing range structure.

Battle Damage Storage Facility

This Design-Build project is a 21,270 square foot 2 story facility, including a high bay hangar, bonding room with clean room environment, high bay storage area, administrative areas, training classrooms and storage. HHI performed design and construction management, steel erection, quality control and misc. interior finishes. This project also included the relocation of a small metal building, site utilities, paving, installation of a pre-manufactured metal building, extensive HVAC equipment and electrical work and all other areas of construction.

Bus Maintenance Facility

HHI constructed the Bus Maintenance and Fueling Facility for Jordan School District. The building structure includes structural masonry, structural steel roof framing, interior metal stud walls, standard finishes, fire suppression, metal roofing, and a fueling station that exceeded EPA standards. The maintenance facility includes a brushless bus wash system, full lubrication capabilities, automatic overhead doors, exhaust ventilation, and welding stations. HHI developed the twenty-acre site and constructed new access roads, including an extensive amount of concrete paving, concrete curb and gutter, asphaltic concrete paving, masonry fence, and landscaping.

This project had an extremely fast construction schedule of 5 months. The facility was critical to the bussing of school children in an area where highway construction would create numerous difficulties if this facility were not complete on schedule. HHI successfully completed the project on time despite the wettest spring in over ten years.

Hill AFB Building 225 Transformation

This project consisted of seven separate task orders to perform renovations and additions to Hill Air Force Base's C-130 Supply Cells of Bldg 225. The project included demolition work, modification and upgrading of office and warehousing areas, construction and installation of two large bridge cranes, and improvements to shop and work areas. All project tasks, including all site improvements, electrical and mechanical work were preformed around ongoing operations, without a building shutdown.

Strip Clean Tanks

This project entailed the complete renovation of an existing plating shop, including removal of existing tanks and new HVAC equipment. The project was completed while facility was still in operation.
